Michael Mixer

Owner/Instructor

I'm Michael Mixer, lead instructor and Owner of FlyPPG LLC — one of the top Training Centers in the U.S.

My love of aviation started when I was 5 years old and my dad would let me taxi his ultralight up and down the runway after he would return from flying on our private airstrip. At 16 years old I started fixed wing training in a Cessna 150. After that I moved over to Fixed wing ultralights and traveled to central Iowa for training.

After flying ultralights for a few years I come across a Powered Paragliding video on YouTube and I was hooked from there. After that all I could dream about was running into the air. A few short weeks later I purchased my first Paramotor and trained with Chris Bowles thru my PPG2 rating.
Almost every day after work and sometimes during lunch break I would go home to fly. Always being competitive, aerobatics and competitions caught my eye and I grew my skill level up to being ranked #2 in the United States. I was invited to represent the United States in the World Air Games several times.

Having a young family with two little girls I decided to step back from the competition side of PPG and get into the
instruction side. I started training in 2008 with around 10 students my first year. Each year student numbers increased. In 2013 I was able to become a full time certified instructor.
Today we train
over 100 students per year with two USPPA Certified instructors on staff to handle the demand of students training here on my private 40 acre farm. With a manicured 8 acre training field tailored to PPG and a state of the art, custom built hangar we strive to offer nothing but the best for our students.

Madilyn Mixer

Instructor

Madilyn, also known as Amazing Madilyn, soloed a paramotor at the young age of 12. She grew up around aviation, with her dad flying planes and paramotors since she was a baby, so it was nothing for her to strap on a foot-launch paramotor and go fly with the middle-aged men - at times even showing them up. Since then she has been nothing short of an over-achiever. In 2018, at the age of 12, she passed an extensive ground school and flight operations test and was granted permission to fly at the World's Largest Airshow in Oshkosh with over half a million people in attendance and set the record for the youngest pilot to ever solo an aircraft there. Since then she has strived to continue her education in aviation, earning her USPPA PPG2 certification at age 12, then precision spot landings and PPG3 certification at 14. Madilyn has been an instructor at FlyPPG since 2020 and has assisted in training hundreds of students become safe and proficient pilots.

Todd Fallone

Instructor Apprentice

Hi, I'm Todd Fallone. I trained at FlyPPG almost three years ago and now have the privilege of assisting with training classes from time to time. Flying my paramotor is one of my favorite things to do, and I consider it an honor to be able to share that passion while helping others achieve the same dream. I am fully committed to making your training experience as fun, informative, and safe as it can be. There is no way to describe the feeling I get watching students take their first flights.

My interest in aviation has been life-long. As long as I can remember I have been fascinated with anything that flies. My uncle gave me my first general aviation plane ride at the age of seven in a Piper Tri-Pacer, and I was hooked! I flew radio-controlled planes in my mid-to-late 20's, then started flight training and soloed in a Piper Cub and Cessna 172. Since then I have flown just about every type type of aircraft there is to fly, including ultralights and gyrocoptors. This year I plan to pursue my instructor rating, as well as trike and tandem certification. I look forward to meeting you all and am available to answer any questions. Just shoot me an email at
